"In Our Time of Mourning" was created as a sister project to my "Pretty Doesn't Mean Weak." This piece is my take on a historical lover's eye pendant. Lover's eye pendants were pieces of jewelry which signifies the person it is from, and if that person happens to pass away, the pendant is then adorn with white pearls to express mourning. I used the dried flowers and herbs to signify the women, and the peacock/black pearl to take the place of the white pearls used in the past to show remorse and mourning along with the date Roe v Wade was overturned etched onto the ring bands.
